For the longest time, Gregg Popovich has been considered to be in the Mount Rushmore of coaching greats by many pundits.
But back in the day, when a 30-year-old Popovich was still a nobody, he was hired by one of the worst colleges in the country, and that’s already Division III basketball. As we all know, the rest is history and he’s now so heralded that he can literally say whatever he wants on television, and, almost always, gets away with it.
Speaking of history, a Reddit user brought up an item that is both personal and valuable as it involves Gregg Popovich himself. The image below is a copy of a recruitment letter sent by Popovich back in 1981, via Imgur.

It’s not clear if the words in the letter are all of Gregg Popovich’s, but it’s nice to see that message placed high emphasis on education. After all, it’s one of the basic fundamentals in life.
