Gregg Popovich made NBA history on Friday night, as his San Antonio Spurs eked out a comeback win over the Utah Jazz. That win marked Pop's 1,336th win, putting him above Don Nelson for most wins in NBA history. It's a historic achievement that everyone in the area was happy about.
After the game, Dejounte Murray, the Spurs' lone All-Star this season, tweeted out a sweet message for Gregg Popovich. The young guard showed his respect for his coach, while also clearly being ecstatic for his achievement.

Murray was one of the big reasons why the Spurs were able to notch Pop's record-setting win today. Despite being down by as much as 15 points against the Jazz, the Spurs star didn't relent in his attack. The All-Star guard relentlessly attacked Utah in the pick-and-roll, nailing mid-range jumpers to punish Rudy Gobert.
The result was a win that will put Popovich in the record books as the greatest coach of all-time. The long-time Spurs coach has led the franchise to five NBA titles, multiple Finals appearances, and much more playoff appearances. The Spurs have been a beacon of excellence in the NBA, and it's all thanks to Popovich's efforts.
With this season potentially being Pop's last, the Spurs made sure to give him as many achievements as possible. We don't know for sure yet whether he'll retire after this year, but he'll undoubtedly go down as the best in NBA history.
