San Antonio Spurs legend Manu Ginobili recently shared his thoughts on the tough loss against the L.A. Clippers on Tuesday night. Ginobili enumerated a number of reasons why the loss was a disappointing one. He said that they should've won the game, but just made too many mistakes, per ClutchPoints' Tomer Azarly.

The Clippers won, 113-110. It became a close game towards the end but at the beginning, it seemed to be the making of an embarrassing blowout as the Spurs led 31-17 in the first quarter. Yet little by little, the Clippers trimmed the lead. And come the fourth quarter, momentum was with them. They outscored the Spurs 41-27.

Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich, echoed Manu's statements. The defense suddenly disappeared in the fourth quarter. Coach Popovich said that his team lacked discipline in the fourth quarter.

“That's a tough loss,” he said. “We can't give up forty-whatever, (forty-one) points in a quarter, especially the fourth quarter, and win a basketball game on the road…The defense caved in in the fourth quarter. We were very undisciplined.

The loss also meant that the Spurs won't get 50 wins this season. Something they've achieved for the past 18 years. It's a testament to their consistency amid changing times. After the Tim Duncan era, the Spurs seem to be struggling to find out who they are.

Kawhi Leonard, who's highly-touted to be the team's next leader, remains out due to injury management. Leonard's absence has made it hard for the Spurs to maintain their usual level of success, but they've won eight of their last 11 games as they look to close out the season on a high note and secure another playoff spot.
