While the thought of Tim Duncan returning to the NBA is definitely a myth, San Antonio Spurs fans got a treat as newly acquired superstar DeMar DeRozan was seen mixing it up with Duncan, Spurs teammates and Gregg Popovich.

This is definitely a welcome sight for Spurs fans who are still licking their wounds following Manu Ginobili's announcement to finally retire from the NBA.

Popovich and the Spurs have had an interesting summer. With Kawhi Leonard not holding back about being unhappy in a Spurs uniform, the team shipped him to the Toronto Raptors for DeRozan, a four-time All-Star. 3-and-D specialist Danny Green was also included in the Kawhi deal, with Jakob Poeltl coming to San Antonio with DeRozan.

Furthermore, Tony Parker left the team when he surprisingly signed with the Charlotte Hornets, leaving Patty Mills as the only remnant of their successful 2014 championship run.

While the Spurs are looking a lot different these days, DeRozan is prepared to keep them competitive. After initially being upset about the trade, DeRozan is warming up to San Antonio, per Tim Reynolds of The Associated Press.

DeRozan has made no secret: He wasn't happy getting traded out of Toronto. But if there's a consolation prize to be had, it's that he now gets Popovich.

”It means everything,” DeRozan said. ”I could have ended up in the middle of nowhere with Joe Blow. I ended up in a great place that wanted me that strives for greatness. You can't ask for nothing better than that.”

Now officially moving into a whole new era, DeRozan and the Spurs are ready to look ahead.
