The Atlanta Hawks have been in trade talks involving John Collins for quite some time now. As the 2022 NBA Draft inches closer Thursday night, those talks have only intensified. According to Bleacher Report writer Jake Fischer, they have been in talks with the San Antonio Spurs in what would be an absolute blockbuster of a trade.
Atlanta and San Antonio have discussed a deal that would swap John Collins for Dejounte Murray, sources said. Spurs have told interests teams that moving Murray would require a "Jrue Holiday-like package." More league-wide trade notes @BR_NBA: https://t.co/Q06G8qLlVu

The supposed deal centered around both Collins and Dejounte Murray. However, sources have said that San Antonio would require a massive package, a “Jrue Holiday-like package” in order to pull the deal off. That certainly means that it would take a lot more than just Collins to pull off the trade.
The Holiday trade included three first-round picks, as well as established NBA players. So, although there is nothing imminent between the Spurs and Hawks, San Antonio is clearly shopping the 25-year-old. Fischer noted that the Spurs and Hawks have been kicking the tires as far back as February prior to the NBA trade deadline.

The question then would be why are the Spurs shopping their rising superstar. Murray is coming off of a massive breakout year. Murray averaged over 21 points per game, to go along with 9.2 assists, 8.3 rebounds and two steals. He led San Antonio to an excellent second half of the year, despite the relative lack of talent around him. The youngster many believed would be the cornerstone of the franchise for years to come.
Yet, it appears the Spurs are strongly considering moving the young star. This is still a developing situation worth monitoring closely as the NBA Draft approaches.
