San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich, one of the greatest basketball minds in history, holds a resume that even half of it would constitute other bench tacticians' dreams. Five NBA titles, three Coach of the Year awards, and a playoff streak that's older than most of the rookies this year top the list — and it only goes on.

Outside of being extremely fundamentally sound, one of the most prominent attributes of Popovich's teams has been defense. During Team USA's minicamp in Las Vegas, the 69-year-old did not only preached defense, he also walked the talk.

In one of the team's drills, Popovich was seen taking on all comers, playing defense like how Kawhi Leonard used to for the Spurs.

While the players took the challenge with routine-like gusto, Indiana Pacers guard Victor Oladipo had a different plan. On his way to the basket, the 2018 All-Star attempted to throw the ball off the glass for an alley-oop finish, but former Air Force guy was having none of it as Popovich dished out a punishment on Oladipo.

Of course, this was all in jest. It's still amazing to see just how candid Popovich is with his players, something that has endeared him to other stars as well — save for Leonard lately, perhaps.
