The Suns opened with a 23-7 run, even forcing Popovich to call two timeouts within minutes of each other. Although they fought back and even brought the game to within one in the fourth quarter, it was not enough with Suns’ Devin Booker securing a win with 35 points and 10 assists.
With this big win, Phoenix snapped their 11-straight losses in San Antonio, and bolstered their chances for a spot in the playoffs.
San Antonio is one of the Western conference teams gunning for the last spot in the playoffs, along with other hopefuls such as the Memphis Grizzlies, who have a record of 21-24 and is currently 0.5 games ahead the Spurs. San Antonio, on the other hand, still plans to improve a historical run and are looking to continue a 22-year-long streak of making the playoffs.
