Philadelphia 76ers rookie Ben Simmons has played exceptionally well through the early stages of this season. Through 30 games, the Melbourne, Australia native has turned in averages of 17.3 points on 51.5 percent shooting from the field, 9.0 rebounds, and 7.8 assists. In those 30 games, Simmons amassed a whopping 520 points, 269 rebounds, and 234 assists. The only other player in NBA history to accomplish such a feat in their rookie season was Oscar Robertson, who scored 859 points, 274 rebounds, and 259 assists in his first 30 games.

Without a doubt, Simmons seems to be on the fast-track to stardom. At just 21 years of age, his style of play has already drawn comparisons to some of the NBA's greatest players, including LeBron James of the Cleveland Cavaliers.

“I think Ben is his own makeup of speed, power, quickness, competitive basketball and being able have a feel for the game,” James said of Simmons earlier this year.

Simmons nearly had another triple-double in Tuesday night's 101-95 loss to the Sacramento Kings, posting 13 points, 12 rebounds, nine assists and three steals in 33 minutes. Then, in Thursday's 114-109 loss to the Toronto Raptors, the former No. 1 overall pick recorded 20 points, six rebounds, four assists, and one block.

The Sixers have dropped four consecutive games. They'll look to get back into the win column on Saturday, when they travel to Toronto for another match-up against the Raptors. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. EST.
