It has been a couple of weeks since San Antonio Spurs star forward Kawhi Leonard made his return from a quadriceps injury.

However, Leonard has had to continue to work getting back to form on the court in the first few games that he has played. It is something that the 26-year-old acknowledged that he is still in an ongoing process physically, according to Tom Orsborn of the San Antonio Express-News.

“I don't feel like I'm there yet,” Leonard said. “But I try to do what I can.”

Leonard has played in just five games since returning to the court on Dec. 12. He had his most productive outing on Tuesday night's win over the Brooklyn Nets scoring 21 points on 8-of-17 shooting with two rebounds, and two assists in a season-high 26 minutes played. He was so good that Nets head coach Kenny Atkinson said it felt like Leonard was guarding the whole team at times.

Although Leonard believes that he isn't there yet physically, it was a definite step in the direction to see him play in a more expanded role and be productive in it. Beyond that, he was able to make a huge positive impact on the game helping lift his team to their fifth win in the last six games.

If the Spurs are going to pose any type of challenge to the Golden State Warriors or even the Houston Rockets, it will require Leonard to play a huge part in that. That said, there is still plenty of time for him to work through the kinks and get back into form this season.
