San Antonio Spurs forward LaMarcus Aldridge has had an unexpected resurgence this season. The 32-year-old is back to his old All-Star form, putting up 22.7 points and 8.3 rebounds per game. However, he posted those numbers as the team’s No. 1 offensive option without Kawhi Leonard, who is now back after a long recovery from his quad injury.

But despite Leonard’s return to the lineup, Aldridge is unconcerned with how his fit with Kawhi offensively will be and is instead focused on winning games.

LA on whether he and Kawhi can work out things offensively: “I’m not worried about that. I’m just trying to win games. We are both going to play well, both of us are going to try to help us win, so I’m not worried about that.”

Aldridge has said all the right things about trying to win, but in the back of his mind, there has to be at least some concern that his play will regress with Leonard back. With Leonard clearly the face of the franchise, it’ll have to be on Aldridge to sacrifice and take on a slightly reduced role going forward.

However, it’ll also be on Spurs coach Gregg Popovich to find a way to keep Aldridge playing at such a high level even with Leonard back to take on a larger role in the offense.
