Russell Westbrook averages a triple-double for the second consecutive season, making him the first one to do so in NBA history.

As reported by Bleacher Report, Westbrook achieved the feat in their game against the Memphis Grizzlies.

Prior to the game, he needed 16 rebounds to achieve the feat. His averages before the final game of the season were 25.6 points, 10.1 assists, and 9.9 rebounds.

He snagged his 16th rebound near the nine-minute mark of the third quarter. Below is the video of the historical feat:

The NBA has seen a bunch of players getting triple-doubles almost every game. Names like Ben Simmons and LeBron James immediately come to mind, among the active players today. In history, Oscar Robertson, Magic Johnson, and Jason Kidd have forged their way into the history books as one of the best all-around players.

These are all great names, yes. And Westbrook seems to have worked his way beside them in a convincing fashion. One can even safely conclude that Westbrook may be better than some, if not most of the names mentioned above.

At times, we take Westbrook's triple-double spree for granted. Some accuse him of stat-padding. Other skeptics believe that his teammates help him out in getting that triple-double.

Yet for the second year in a row, he has done it again. For once, maybe we can just appreciate Westbrook and the greatness he brings every time he steps on to the court. We may never see another one like Westbrook in our lifetime.
