The Oklahoma City Thunder have lost three games in a row and four out of the last five after beating the Golden State Warriors last week — and with the losing comes the microscope to pick out every possible flaw in this super team assembled to win now.

ESPN's Stephen A. Smith wasn't short of a hot take on this Thunder team, recently bringing up how Carmelo Anthony has openly defied his coach Billy Donovan by waving him off of a substitution during yesterday's game against the Orlando Magic,

“…and I'm watching Carmelo Anthony on the free-throw line, I'm watching Billy Donovan send someone in the game to sub for him,” said Smith. “…and Melo waves him off. ‘I got it, I'm staying in. I'm not coming out, I'm staying in'”

“Well, excuse me, who is the coach and who is running the show? I'm not saying Melo is wrong for doing that, I'm saying those are the things that are happening.”

Calling a sub off is more commonplace in the NBA than in any other sports at any other level, as stars often hold a lot more power than the people put out there to coach them. But Anthony had swore on high heavens that he was down to follow anything coach Donovan had set in place for this team, and even in the midst of adversity, he's managed to go against it.

Anthony didn't do himself any favors against the Magic, scoring only 16 points in 5-of-16 from the floor in his 34 minutes of play.
