The game between the Minnesota Timberwolves and Oklahoma City Thunder on Sunday turned out to be a highly-competitive matchup that went down the wire.
After Carmelo Anthony hit the go-ahead 3-pointer for the home team with 4.7 seconds left, Taj Gison inbounded the ball to Andrew Wiggins, who dribbled the ball to around 30 feet away from the basket and banked the shot to give the Wolves a two-point victory.
When asked to give his thoughts on the final play, the Timberwolves forward talked about the solid screens his teammates made, that allowed him to win the game for them. However, Andrew Wiggins also admitted that he didn’t think he’ll make the shot when he released the ball.

As it turned out, Wiggins broke the hearts of the Thunder faithful, who thought their team was going to escape with the win. What’s even more impressive is that 3-point shooting has not been the strongest suit of the 22-year-old’s game so far in his NBA career, but he drilled two during the night, including the game-winner.
The Timberwolves are now 2-1 for the season, and have won against a team many believe will be a contender for the title this year. If they can continue their strong play following the morale-boosting victory on Sunday, it could lead to a few more wins strung together, which will definitely help their quest to make a lot of noise in the Western Conference.
