Golden State Warriors veteran wing Andre Iguodala made a tremendous impact yet again in Game 2 of the NBA Finals against the Toronto Raptors, as the former Finals MVP winner sank a dagger trey in the dying seconds of the tightly-contested matchup.

Following his team's narrow 109-105 defeat, Raptors head coach Nick Nurse discussed the events that eventually led to Iguodala's dagger, and admitted that his team should have opted to fouled in that situation.

“That’s a definite foul situation,” Nurse said, per Eric Koreen of The Athletic. “They could hold it all the way to the end, throw it up there, hit the rim and the horn’s going to go off. I’ve been in that situation before. So usually under 28 — if there’s 28 or more you’re going to play solid defence, if it’s 27.9 or under you’re (going to foul).”

Prior to the scramble that led to Iguodala's three-pointer, the Raptors had a number of opportunities to foul their opponents on the very same possession. They could have afforded to play the free-throw game, and guys like Draymond Green or Shaun Livingston were prime candidates for an intentional foul.

Unfortunately for the Raptors, they suffered a collective mental lapse in the dying seconds, as they failed to take advantage of the situation at hand. Instead, the foiled defensive play led to a wide open Iguodala trey that literally turned the tide in this series.
