After the Toronto Raptors won their first-ever championship at the expense of the Golden State Warriors, Kawhi Leonard and Kyle Lowry sat down with ESPN for a post-Finals interview, where the former jokingly said that the latter does not want him in Toronto anymore.

The Raptors had an impressive playoff run, led by Leonard's phenomenal and historic performance. Lowry has done his part as well, although he struggled in the earlier rounds of the postseason.
Lowry was at his best in Game 6 on Thursday, finishing with 26 points, 10 assists and seven rebounds to help the Raptors finish off the Warriors 114-110 to win the title.

Of course, he wasn't the Finals MVP. It was Leonard, who had 22 points, six boards and three dimes. In six Finals games, he averaged 30.9 points on 49 percent shooting, 9.1 rebounds and 3.9 assists. There is no doubt that he turned Toronto from a contender to a champion.
However, Kawhi is set to become a free agent this summer, and while he and Lowry can joke about who doesn't want who to stay in the team, the reality is the Raptors cannot afford to lose Leonard. Sure enough, the front office will do everything they could to convince him to stay.
The Raptors' Finals victory is just the beginning. Teams will do everything they could to dethrone the newly-crowned champions next season. But if Toronto can keep its core together, they will definitely be ready for any challengers in the future.
