Kyle Lowry has been demonized by his share of playoff struggles, often making him a question mark as to how far the Toronto Raptors can go in the postseason.

The 6-foot point man has seen his efficiency dip, going through shooting slumps at the worst of times, though he has managed to correct those recently, shooting a career-high 50.8 percent in last year's playoff run.

So what changed?

“I think my body wasn't prepared,” said Lowry, according to ESPN' Tim Bontemps. “I think I was playing so many minutes that I didn't prepare my body and my mind the right way. After that I learned how to prepare my body and mind because I made the playoffs once, didn't make it, you forget what it's about.

“You forget how hard the playoffs actually are, and how much more energy you have to consume and it takes up. That's what it is. All that stuff.”

Lowry has undergone plenty of changes throughout his career, going from a small but stocky point guard who can absorb punishment when driving into the trees, to a slimmer and more toned sharpshooter who proved to be a devastating weapon for the Raptors.

He has had to change things yet again this season, becoming a primary playmaker (career-high 8.7 assists) while his scoring numbers and percentages have taken a considerable dip from the last two seasons.

However, Lowry has been given the chance to rest his body, which could play a part in Toronto's equation to finally stand atop the East when it's all said and done.
