Toronto Raptors president of basketball operations Masai Ujiri envisioned the moment where he would bring the Raptors to their first-ever NBA Finals when he made the gutsy move to bring in two-way star Kawhi Leonard, trading away a lifelong Raptor in DeMar DeRozan.

Now sitting four wins away from their first-ever title, Ujiri reminisced of how it all came together, starting with one ballsy decision in the offseason:

“Its surreal. But when you put the team together, you dream of an NBA championship,” said Ujiri during the NBA Finals media availability on Wednesday, according to ESPN's Tim Bontemps. “The trade was hard, but we knew the kind of player (in Kawhi) we were getting… I think we were positive about this kind of moment. I know I dreamt of it.”

The dream has come true, but if Ujiri was dreaming of something bigger, it was to win the NBA Finals — he now has the caliber of player to make that dream a reality.

Leonard has been nothing short of fantastic, unleashing all the talent that was previously untapped by the systemic approach of the San Antonio Spurs.

The Klaw returns to this stage five years after winning the Finals MVP trophy in 2014 after dethroning the Miami Heat, now hoping to stop another three-peat from happening with a hobbled Golden State Warriors team ahead.

The Raptors will have the home-court advantage heading into this series, one that could prove vital for the team and inch Ujiri's dreams closer to a reality.
