Referees and officials in professional sports across the world have grown accustomed to verbal jeers and criticisms from fans who don't agree with calls. At the professional level, it's usually not much of a problem as long as the fan doesn't try to come onto the field of play.
That wasn't the case on Monday night.
During Game 4 between the Toronto Raptors and the Cleveland Cavaliers, the officials had the arena staff eject a man sitting right behind press row for apparently belittling at least one ref to the point where he couldn't take his presence anymore.
Officials are trained to deal with negative fan responses to calls and not allow them to cloud their judgement, so whatever this guy was saying must have been pretty brutal.
Still, when you pay hundreds of dollars to go to a NBA playoff game and sit that close, you don't expect to get thrown out for hurting a referee's feelings.
