Utah Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell has tested positive for the COVID-19. While people quickly pointed at Rudy Gobert as the main culprit, it hasn't been determined if Mitchell contracted the novel coronavirus from the center. New information revealed that Mitchell visited Encore Boston Casino last week — a place where a guest tested positive for the virus.

Per Andy Rosen of the Boston Globe, the casino said that the said person with the virus had contact with seven individuals. They also pointed out that the guest was “was low risk and showing no signs of symptoms when at the resort.”

“Encore has reported that this individual was present at the casino for one hour and had contact while there with a small number of individuals, currently determined to be seven,” the commission said in a statement. “Encore has reported that all of these individuals have been identified and alerted.”

Mitchell was the second player in the league who was diagnosed with COVID-19, following his teammate Gobert. The center's diagnosis immediately triggered the NBA to postpone the 2019-20 season indefinitely.

A few days before testing positive for the novel coronavirus, a video of Gobert jokingly touching all the microphones and recording devices after a media conference resurfaced. Fans quickly slammed Gobert for his actions and subsequently blamed him.
