Thanks in large part to the outstanding play of Donovan Mitchell, the Utah Jazz are riding the wave of a five-game winning streak. The former Louisville Cardinal has a strong dunk hand, to be sure, but he also has a smooth shot. In fact, Mitchell has managed to knock down 150 threes in a season faster than any rookie in NBA history, according to a report from Eric Woodyard of Deseret News.
Donovan Mitchell has become the quickest rookie to hit 150 threes in a season in just 63 games played.

For reference, Portland Trail Blazers point guard Damian Lillard was the previous record holder.

In Friday night's 95-78 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies, Mitchell, now 21 years of age, posted 12 points on 4-15 shooting from the field (3-8 from beyond the arc), six assists, five rebounds, two steals, one block, and a plus/minus score of +15. Newly-acquired forward Jae Crowder led the Jazz in scoring with a season-high 22 points.
“Donovan has to play better,” Jazz head coach Quin Snyder said during his post-game media availability. “He had a few decisions he can improve on, and he will.”
“Not every game is pretty,” coach Snyder said, then later adding: “In addition to a couple of turnovers, we missed some people and made it a little hard on ourselves.”
Mitchell, who was selected with the 13th pick in the 2017 Draft, is currently averaging 19.7 points on 43.5 percent shooting from the field (34.9 percent from beyond the arc), 3.6 assists, and 3.6 rebounds.
The Jazz — winners in 17 of their last 19 games — will be back in action on Sunday, as their scheduled to face the New Orleans Pelicans inside the Smoothie King Center. Tip-off is set for 4:00 p.m. EST.
