Donovan Mitchell of the Utah Jazz recalled the 2017 NBA Draft. He knew he had a chance of being the eighth overall pick and going to the New York Knicks. He even thought that the New Orleans Hornets — who had the 11th pick — would select him.

Per Michael Scotto of The Athletic, Mitchell — who eventually became the 13th overall pick by the Denver Nuggets the traded to the Utah Jazz — opened up about the possibility of playing for the Knicks or Hornets.

“It’s funny. That’s the one question I get nowadays. Would you want to be a Knick? For me, I’m a big believer in everything happens for a reason. Obviously, I thought there was a chance. But I knew they were really high on Frank (Ntilikina), who I’m really close with, so I didn’t really take it personally.”

Donovan Mitchell, who was actually born in New York, didn't exactly like the thought of playing in a big city. He's been around skyscrapers and a mass of people almost all his life. But in Utah, he is able to get that peace of mind — something that he feels he won't get in the busy and hectic city of New York.

From the looks of it, the 22-year-old is enjoying himself in Utah. He's the team's star player and as an NBA player, there's no better feeling than that. But there's no harm in entertaining the thought of “what if I went to another team?”
