Donovan Mitchell sustained a hamstring injury in the Utah Jazz's Game 5 loss to the Dallas Mavericks on Monday, putting his status in question for the rest of the series. However, the athletic guard is not ruling himself out just yet.
In his postgame presser, Mitchell admitted that he'll probably be in pain over the next couple of days, but that doesn't mean he'll be sitting out the must-win Game 6 at Salt Lake City. As the 25-year-old guard emphasized, he is a competitor.

Donovan Mitchell sustained a left hamstring injury late in the fourth quarter of their eventual 102-77 loss. He was clearly in pain as he walked off the floor and headed to the locker room with less than five minutes remaining on the clock.
Mitchell is set to be evaluated on Tuesday in Utah. They have a two-day break before Game 6 on Thursday, so that gives him a little bit more time to rest and recover from the issue.
Sure enough, the Jazz will hold their breath as they await the results of Mitchell's injury evaluation. Hamstring issues can be difficult to play through, as seen by the cases of Devin Booker and Kyle Lowry. Hopefully, the issue for Mitchell is not that serious and he'll be able to suit up come Game 6.
