It was earlier reported on Tuesday that the Utah Jazz team plane had to take an emergency landing after hitting a flock of birds. Fortunately, everyone on board came out of the incident unscathed.
Players from the Jazz have since sent out their reactions to what turned out to be a frightening experience, and unsurprisingly, they are just happy to be alive (h/t Sloan's Categorical Imperative on Twitter):

The chartered plane reportedly had to take an emergency landing shortly after takeoff after one of the engines sustained considerable damage. The Jazz were supposedly on their way to Memphis for their tilt against the Grizzlies on Thursday. The scary incident reportedly left the team “rattled,” and based on their collective reactions above, the players are thanking the high heavens for the fact that they just averted what could have been a catastrophe.
Here are a couple of chilling photos of the plane that show what type of damage it sustained:

It's not every day that you undergo these types of potentially life-altering experiences, and for the Jazz players, their close call appears to have given all of them a newfound appreciation for life.
As for their basketball, the Jazz have been outstanding of late following a poor string of performances in the first half of the month. After losing four out of their first seven games in March, Utah has since racked up six consecutive wins. They have been able to fortify their position at the very top of the Western Conference, with the second-placed Phoenix Suns currently three and a half games behind them (as of Tuesday afternoon).
