Utah Jazz shooting guard Donovan Mitchell admits he would be honored if he's voted in as a reserve for the All-Star game this season.
The coaches vote for the reserves. TNT will announce the reserves on Thursday and Mitchell is hoping his name is called, but understands that he has bigger fish to fry in terms of leading the Jazz to a championship:
Donovan Mitchell, on the possibility of being named an All-Star: “It’d be an incredible honor, for sure. … Hopefully I’ll get the call. … I would love to make it. If I don’t, we have bigger things to focus on. Even if I do make it, we still have bigger things to focus on. pic.twitter.com/wsHKU3eHld

The Jazz are 32-14 on the season. They are in third place in the Western Conference standings.
Mitchell has appeared in 45 games for the Jazz this season. The high-flyer is averaging 24.9 points, 4.3 rebounds and 4.2 assists while shooting 46.2 percent from the field, 36.6 percent from beyond the arc and 85.7 percent from the free-throw line.
The Jazz have lost to the Houston Rockets in back-to-back postseasons. Mitchell, who has career averages of 22.7 points, 4.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists, is the best player in Utah and eager to lead the team to a championship run.
For the Jazz to go on a deep playoff run, they will need point guard Mike Conley to play like he did last season with the Memphis Grizzlies. Conley averaged 21.1 points per game for the Grizzlies during the 2018-19 campaign. The lefty is only putting up 12.6 points this season and shooting 37.7 percent overall.
