The Utah Jazz were eliminated by the Houston Rockets this postseason, but Ricky Rubio doesn't think that is the peak for this team and has high hopes for the future. In an interview with Catalan Esports, Rubio said he sees himself playing in an NBA Finals in a Jazz uniform.
“We are young, we have a solid future and a team, and I feel that we still have to do something big. I see myself playing the NBA finals with the Jazz,” Rubio said per Catalan Esports.
The Jazz looked like they were going to give the Houston Rockets everything they could handle until Rubio went out with an injury.
Article Continues BelowWithout Rubio, Donovan Mitchell was forced to play on the ball, which is something he could do, but he was much better playing off the ball.
The two guys look like they are going to be a formidable option for years to come with the team. Mitchell wasn't ever expected to be this good, especially his rookie year, but it appears that the Jazz might have just gotten themselves the steal of the draft.
This offseason is going to be critical for Utah if they want to take the next step forward. They have a good team, but they are still probably a piece or two away from having a great team. The other bad thing for Utah is they still have the Warriors in the Western Conference, so unless they split up, it's going to be tough, but it's got to feel good for Jazz fans that Rubio is shooting high.
