Utah Jazz superstar Rudy Gobert has arguably been one of the most underrated stars in the NBA today. Even after being crowned as a two-time Defensive Player of the Year and a four-time All-Defensive Team member, the “Stifle Tower” stills go under the radar and is often overlooked when talking about the league's shiniest stars.
On Sunday, Rudy Gobert took to Twitter to respond to a fan's comments on how misunderstood he is and it seems that the 28-year old is cancelling all the noise and hate around his name.
“The people that know, know. That's all that matters to me”, Rudy Gobert tweeted.

And for those who do know, they definitely recognize how huge Rudy Gobert has been in Salt Lake City.
After being drafted as the 27th overall pick in the 2013 draft, the Saint-Quentin native slowly made a name for himself as the league's most elite swatter. Apart from his rookie season, Rudy Gobert has been averaging at least two blocks per contest per season since 2014. Last year, he claimed his first All-Star stint and had one of his best years so far both offensively and defensively. He finished the 2019-2020 season with 15.1 points per game, 13.5 rebounds, two blocks and shot and was shooting on a very efficient 69.3% clip from the field.
Unfortunately for Rudy Gobert, what would probably be remembered most from last season was being the first player in the league that tested positive of COVID-19 which ultimately changed the landscape of the 2019-2020 season. Even amid all the controversy behind the virus and everything attached to it, Gobert kept working quietly and made sure he showed up to give the Jazz a fighting chance inside the bubble.
Now, Rudy Gobert will try to elevate the Jazz out of the first round of the playoffs and deeper into the Western Conference postseason, a necessary next step in his — and his team's — evolution.
