Whether Utah Jazz scoring machine Donovan Mitchell will end up winning the Rookie of the Year honors or not, the one undeniable truth about his first year in the league is that he is the best dunker among all NBA greenhorns. After all, he is the reigning NBA Slam Dunk champion after taking home the trophy in this year’s All-Star break.

With only a few games left on the regular-season schedule of the Jazz, Mitchell is helping make sure that the Jazz will be part of the playoffs. He is also taking every opportunity he gets to show his serious hops – even during breaks in the game.

During Sunday night’s road game against the Golden State Warriors, Mitchell busted out his pogo sticks once again, when he completed a windmill dunk off a rebound from teammate Joe Ingles’ s layup attempt. Ingles was fouled on the play, so Mitchell’s jam did not count. Nevertheless, Mitchell drew oohs and aahs from fans in attendance.

Mitchell finished the game with 21 points on 8-for-19 shooting from the floor to go with six assists, two rebounds, and two steals to help the Jazz to a 110-91 victory. On the season, Mitchell is averaging 20.3 points per game.

With the win, the Jazz improved their record to 42-32, 1.5 games ahead of the Denver Nuggets, who are currently ninth in the Western Conference standings.

The Jazz, who are 11-2 in their last 13 outings, will now prepare for a home game against the Boston Celtics at Salt Lake City this coming Wednesday.
