The Golden State Warriors disposed of the New Orleans Pelicans Monday with a 125-115 victory, but they can’t be too happy of their win. For one, Warriors guard Stephen Curry sustained an ankle injury while going for a steal late in the game.
Curry exited the matchup and headed towards the dugout shortly thereafter. Adding more to the concern of Warriors fans and his fantasy owners was the sight of Curry leaving the locker room on crutches. Curry, however, doesn’t seem to be that much bothered by his injury, as he was able to make a joke about his status, per Anthony Slater of The Athletic.
Steph Curry's first thought when he hurt right ankle: "Gotta call my Dad, tell him I can't play golf tomorrow." Team is in Charlotte.

Perhaps, Stephen Curry was just encouraged by the news that X-rays of his ailing right ankle did not reveal any structural damage and an initial diagnosis of his injury remains that of a sprain. That said, Curry is scheduled to undergo an MRI Tuesday for further testing.

The Warriors are set to play the Charlotte Hornets on the road tomorrow. Curry’s dad, Dell, who’s a former player and now is part of the Hornets’ broadcast team, hence the golf reference by the two-time league MVP.
If Curry can’t give it a go tomorrow, the Warriors will lean heavily on the returning Shaun Livingston for point guard duties, while Klay Thompson and Kevin Durant could see an increase in their usages.
Curry is averaging 26.1 points, 6.4 assists, and 5.1 rebounds per game, while shooting 47.3 percent from the field this season.
