Notwithstanding a 110-106 upset at the hands of the Sacramento Kings sans Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry, the Golden State Warriors seem to be intent on keeping their superstars on the sideline if both are not yet 100 percent healthy.

That said, Durant and Curry are only currently listed questionable for Wednesday’s matchup with the Los Angeles Lakers, per Logan Murdock of the Mercury News, so there’s still hope for basketball fans to watch Curry go mano a mano with Lakers rookie guard Lonzo Ball, and see Durant take on Los Angeles’ defense.

Stephen Curry is nursing a right-hand contusion that caused him to miss the Sacramento game. In Curry’s stead, Patrick McCaw served as the Warriors’ starting point guard. Durant, meanwhile, is dealing with an ankle injury that has forced him to sit out four of Golden State’s last five games.

The Warriors don’t have a lot to lose if they were to sit Curry and Durant again. The team is still 15-6 and risking a game against the Lakers is an easier pill to swallow than putting their stars in danger of aggravating their injuries.

In case the two former MVPs go absent again, the Warriors will look for McCaw, Shaun Livingston, Omri Casspi, and Andre Iguodala to collectively fill in Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant’s voids.
