Having a courtside seat in an NBA game costs a bundle of money – and comes with some hazards, too.

See, the closer you are to the court, the higher chances you have of getting bulldozed by a seven-footer who’s trying to save the leather from going outside or being hit right in the face by a wayward ball.

Take for example the fate a fan suffered Thursday night at Oracle Arena while watching the Golden State Warriors take on the visiting Dallas Mavericks

Late in the third quarter, Mavs guard Devin Harris threw an errant pass that found no one but the mug of a female fan in the sidelines. It would just have been a minor anecdote from the game, but became a more interesting one when Kevin Durant and Jordan Bell came to check on the fan. Durant even planted a smooch on the fan, who probably felt that he got more than her money’s worth, before resuming to do their job as basketball players.

Durant, who scored 36 points in the 112-97 win over the Mavs, has become some sort of a villain ever since he decided to join the Warriors last year. But moments like this remind people that for all his social media antics, on-court trash-talking, and technical fouls collected, Kevin Durant is still a genuinely good person.

No word yet if Durant sent the fan a cupcake after the Warriors' win.
