Jenkins is a seven-year NBA veteran who has hopped around the league. He was drafted by the Atlanta Hawks in the first round with the 23rd pick overall. He played in Atlanta for three years, with a very small role off the bench. He's also played for the Toronto Raptors, Dallas Mavericks, and Phoenix Suns since.
He's been in and out of the league since then and hasn't played in the NBA until being called up by the Wizards.
The Wizards have been quite the story all season long. They started out the season with seemingly no energy. John Wall and Bradley Beal haven't meshed well over their years together. There was such apathy in the starting lineup, players were jogging back on defense. There was absolutely no movement on offense.
In mid-November, the team announced that everyone would be on the trading block. So far, general manager Ernie Grunfeld has only been able to let go of Austin Rivers and Kelly Oubre, but more player movement could happen before the deadline.
Unfortunately, Wall is out for the year. Due to his contract, it would've been hard to deal him elsewhere anyways.
The Wizards are now 22-29 on the season, good for the ninth spot in the NBA's Eastern Conference. They will face off next against the Milwaukee Bucks at home.
