When a team wins a championship, it is usually the players who take center stage in postgame celebrations. But on Sunday, as the St. Bonaventure Bonnies whooped it up following a 74-65 win over the VCU Rams to win the Atlantic 10 championship, it was what happened to a St. Bonaventure videographer that made the rounds on social media.

As St. Bonaventure players celebrated their Atlantic 10 title, a team videographer made his way to the floor to cover the festivities. But he was quickly restrained and pulled away by a security officer. He was even placed in a headlock at one point as he tried to continue to shoot.

Some of the St. Bonaventure players eventually noticed what was happening and stopped their celebrations to call attention to the scene near the tunnel.

The St. Bonaventure videographer apparently got permission to cover the game on the court, while other media personnel had assigned seats in the venue. After the final buzzer rang and the celebrations commenced, he immediately filmed the players.

According to reports, it is possible that the security officer thought the videographer defiantly rushed to the court, as it was prohibited for media members who had assigned seats. Fortunately, he was eventually allowed back into the floor after St. Bonaventure staff explained his role with the team.

Guard Kyle Lofton led the St. Bonaventure Bonnies with 23 points, five rebounds, and six assists as they earned a bid in the NCAA Tournament as the no. 9 seed in the East Region. They will face no. 8 seed LSU Tigers in the first round on Saturday.
