Davonte Davis, a four-star guard prospect out of the 2020 college basketball recruiting class, visited with the Arkansas Razorbacks. The visit was unofficial in capacity.
This news was relayed to the masses on the mean streets of Twitter by Rivals and Stockrisers grassroots guru Jake Weingarten, who also mentioned he expected the program to offer the young man a scholarship in relatively short order.
He was recently offered a scholarship by the Texas Tech Red Raiders. Davis is a former Oklahoma State Cowboys commit.
As for Davonte Davis, not only do all reputable recruiting service websites list the young man as a four-star caliber prospect, but most agree he's one of the 95 (or so) best players in the entire 2020 recruiting class.
Article Continues BelowThat being said, some composite rankings to peg him lightly lower; though we'll have more clarity on all of that in a few months. Also worth mentioning that the number of stars attached next to a player's name doesn't inherently predict future success or failure.
A 6-foot-4 point guard from Arkansas, the Auburn Tigers and Oregon Ducks are after his services. Clearly, as are the aforementioned Arkansas Razorbacks. Many believe they are the favorites to land him.
