The NBA In-Season Tournament heads to Las Vegas for the final four on Dec. 7-9. At the same time, the Nike EYBL Scholastic Showcase Games will take place in Sin City, and the NBA is allowing scouts to attend this event featuring some of the best high school talent in the country, including Duke basketball commit Cooper Flagg.

“As part of a growing partnership with Nike, NBA teams will be permitted to attend five Nike EYBL Scholastic Showcase Games on Dec. 8-9, including a Dec. 8 game at T-Mobile Arena between Montverde Academy and Link Academy,” ESPN’s Jonathan Givony reported on Tuesday. “Flagg, the No. 1 prospect in high school basketball — committed to Duke — will match up with Texas-commit Tre Johnson, who is ranked No. 4 in the 2024 class by ESPN.”

Cooper Flagg, a 6-foot-9, 200-pound forward from Newport, Maine who attends Montverde Academy in Florida now, is the No. 1 college basketball recruit in the country for the 2024 season.

Cooper Flagg heads an incredible Duke recruiting class

Duke basketball HC Jon Scheyer welcomes Cooper Flagg

In October, after reclassifying from the Class of 2025, Flagg committed to coach Jon Scheyer and the Duke basketball program. This reclassification means that Flagg will enter Duke as a 17-year-old, but since he will turn 18 on December 21, 2024, he will be eligible for the 2025 NBA Draft, where he is currently projected to be the No. 1 pick.

Flagg is just one of the top 50 college basketball recruits who will play in Cameron Indoor Arena for Duke in 2024. In addition to the No. 1 prospect, Scheyer also has 2024 commitments from forward Isaiah Evans (No. 8), guard Kon Knueppel (No. 22), and guard Darren Harris (No. 45). The school is also among the favorites for forward V.J. Edgecombe (No. 5) and center Pat Ngongba (No. 19).
