Bill Self and the Kansas Jayhawks are a win away from booking their tickets to the national title game of the 2022 March Madness. Winning the game this Saturday is going to be easier said than done for the Jayhawks, though, as they will be up against a dangerous unit in the form of the Villanova Wildcats, who got the better of Self's squad back in the 2018 Final Four stage.

As part of the preparation for this Final Four meeting with Villanova, Self revealed that he had to force himself to watch the tape of the Jayhawks' crushing 95-79 loss during that year's National Semifinals. It's really not something that Self enjoyed, obviously.

Via Gary Bedore of the Belleville News-Democrat:

“I didn’t really watch it to try to have memories,” said Self, who indicated he “gets ticks whenever I think about it (that game).”

“I watched it to see when they backed their guards down, did they have the same action off the ball and stuff like that. When I said I watched it, I got through about 12 minutes of it. And after that, it was very obvious that I wasn’t going to learn very much from it,” Self added.

What Self would certainly revel in is a win this time around against Villanova. The Jayhawks are the last No. 1 seed standing in the 2022 NCAA Tournament and are the favorites to defeat Villanova.
