The NCAA is still at odds on what to do for the upcoming college football season and there are suddenly doubts on the idea of games being played. According to Brett McMurphy of the Stadium Network, there is a growing concern that the 2020 college football season will be canceled.

As of this moment, the MAC (Mid-American Conference) is the first conference in the NCAA to cancel the college football season in 2020. But with the clock ticking, McMurphy's source believes it is only a matter of time before other conferences follow suit.

Also, Pat Forde shared that a source informed him that he believes fall sports will be postponed in all conferences by the end of the week.

Unlike the NFL, college football players aren't paid to play football during the season. Therefore, there is little to no incentive for players to take the field if they feel as if there is a risk playing.

If fall sports are pushed back until spring, then that could allow some players to make the decision to play their final collegiate season. However, there have already been a few notable players that have elected to opt out of the 2020 college football season. And instead, they'll turn their attention to declaring for the 2021 NFL Draft.

Of course, every football fan is longing for college football and the NFL to return smoothly, giving them something to cheer for on the weekends. But unless something drastic happens, it appears there is a chance that the upcoming college football season is going to be put on hold due to COVID-19.
