Of all the name, image and likeness deals that have taken place so far in college athletics, there isn't a more perfect match than Kool-Aid and Alabama Crimson Tide player Ga'Quincy “Kool-Aid” McKinstry. The two sides inked a deal on Wednesday.

McKinstry is a freshman cornerback out of Birmingham, Alabama and was a highly touted five-star recruit. He expects to play a major role in the Crimson Tide defense under Nick Saban. His bio on the team football website helps shine a light on just how good Kool-Aid might be.

Widely considered the top cornerback in the 2021 signing class … a five-star on the 247Composite … ranks as the nation's No. 23 overall player on the 247Composite, the No. 1 corner and the top player in Alabama … the No. 18 player nationally in the Top247 by 247Sports and the site's top-ranked cornerback … rivals.com ranks him 46th nationally, as the No. 2 cornerback and as the No. 1 recruit in Alabama … a four-star recruit and No. 38 in the ESPN300 according to ESPN.com … the No. 4 athlete, No. 2 player in Alabama and No. 17 player in the Southeast Region by ESPN.

That's a lot of praise and now a lot of expectations put on the shoulders of the freshman cornerback for the Crimson Tide. If his nickname is as smooth as his play on the field, Kool-Aid McKinstry will adjust just fine and ball out for Coach Saban.

There won't be a better fit for an NIL deal than Kool-Aid and Kool-Aid McKinstry. This deal was a no-brainer for both parties.
