Notre Dame is coming off their biggest test of the year against Wisconsin. Coincidentally, it ended up being their largest margin of victory this year as they blew out the Badgers 41-13.

Jack Coan left the game due to an ankle injury against the Badgers. Notre Dame head coach Brian Kelly provided an update, per NotreDame.Rivals.com, on the plan at quarterback as the Fighting Irish get set to take on No. 7 Cincinnati.

“If Jack is healthy, Jack will be our starter,” Kelly said. “Tyler felt really good yesterday in treatment. He declared himself feeling good, so that’s good for us. That allows us to get him back into the mix. We’ll see when we get on the field tomorrow.

“If [Jack] looks good, he will be our starter and Tyler Buchner will play like we had before this last game. If he can’t, Drew is ready to go.”

When Coan went out while the game against Wisconsin was tied at 10-10, many in the Notre Dame faithful thought they were in trouble. A kick return for a touchdown and two interceptions taking back for touchdowns helped pave the way though, as Kelly's squad handed it to Wisconsin in the second half.

If Coan is available, it provides Notre Dame with their best chance to take out a really good Cincinnati team. This top 10 battle will have one team gliding even higher in the rankings, while the other will sink a bit.
