The Miami Hurricanes have made waves in the recruiting department since hiring Mario Cristobal to be their new head coach back in December. Cristobal currently has the Hurricanes on a torrid pace, having brought in six blue-chip recruits to the 2023 class.

Well, Miami landed another one on Tuesday. 4-star linebacker Raul Aguirre has committed to the Hurricanes over other top schools, such as Alabama and Ohio State, among others. 247 Sports has the latest.

Top247 linebacker Raul Aguirre became the seventh straight blue-chip recruit to commit to Mario Cristobal on Tuesday when he announced his pledge to Miami over Alabama, Ohio State, Arkansas, Florida, and others.

Cristobal and the Hurricanes got a good one. Aguirre, ranked as the nation's number-121 overall player, has been projected as a Power 5 starter by some.

In a wild twist, the Georgia native didn't even visit Miami, then ended up attending the school. Perhaps more people should have respected the possibility of the Hurricanes winning the recruiting sweepstakes for Aguirre. Here's what he said back in May.

“It’s Miami. Knowing that family is there and every time I walk in the building it feels like home,” Aguirre told InsideTheU back in May. “For me it’s just a crazy feeling knowing that Cristobal and Mirabal coached my dad in high school. They’re definitely one of the top schools on my choices.”

Clearly, the Miami Hurricanes were on Raul Aguirre's mind. Winning in the future is on Miami and Cristobal's mind, as they have landed four recruits inside the top-100.
