One of the most notable storylines of college football has been the transition into NIL deals. This has changed the landscape of the sport and seemingly made some enemies in the process. The bloodbath that recruiting has already proven to be has a new hurdle that each coach is still figuring out the best way to clear.
The most notable feud to be sparked by this was between Nick Saban and Jimbo Fisher. The two exchanged blows through the media which set the whole college football world on fire. Now at the SEC Media day, Nick Saban attempted to clear the air on the verbal brawl:

I always take criticisms or whatever in a positive way to self-assess me personally to feel like there is maybe something I can do better. Any comment that anyone makes, I always take into consideration. But there are no problems.”
In the end, this seems to be an overblown issue. It is great to see two of the best coaches in football making up and clearing the air in a public setting. The frustrations are clearly not directed between the two coaches but rather at the system as a whole. Nick Saban has made his amends and is prepared to move with Jimbo Fisher. However, how the future of NIL plays out is sure to play a major role in college football moving forward.
