The Ohio State football program is currently gearing up for its upcoming matchup against the Miami Hurricanes, which was recently solidified with Miami's road win over the Texas A&M Aggies over the weekend. Ohio State is looking to bounce back after dropping the Big 10 Championship Game in narrow fashion against Indiana a few weeks ago.

The Ohio State offense is coordinated by Brian Hartline, who has since committed to becoming the next head coach of South Florida, but will remain on board with the Buckeyes throughout the duration of their college football playoff run as they look to defend their national championship win from a year ago.

Recently, head coach Ryan Day announced a big change as it pertains to the Buckeyes' offensive operation moving forward.

“Ryan Day says he will be Ohio State’s offensive play caller for the College Football Playoff,” reported Dan Hope of Eleven Warriors on X, formerly Twitter.

Day will be hoping to dial up a better offense than what Ohio State football displayed in their loss to Indiana. In that game, Julian Sayin and the Buckeyes weren't able to get much of anything going down the field, with key offensive weapons like Jeremiah Smith finding themselves stifled throughout most of the evening.

Ohio State will be taking on a similarly elite Miami defense that held the usually high-flying Texas A&M offense to just three points on their home field over the weekend in College Station.

Still, with a sizable rest and preparation advantage, Ohio State should have everything it needs to bounce back and advance further toward its goal of a repeat.

In any case, Ohio State and Miami are set to get things underway on New Year's Eve as part of the Cotton Bowl Classic at 7:30 pm ET.
