It was a wire-to-wire victory for Bruce Brown, Seth Curry Andre Drummond and the Brooklyn Nets. The win is the team's first since January 21, a W versus the San Antonio Spurs. It snaps a grueling and miserable 11-game losing streak, one that coincided with the breakup of The Big 3, Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving and James Harden. We can now lay that chapter to bed.

And it sounds like there's a different locker room vibe in Brooklyn now that Harden is gone and the trade deadline has passed as well.

Monday's game was a battle of two teams that experienced some major trade deadline makeovers.

Domantas Sabonis forms a tough duo with his new teammate De'Aaron Fox for the Sacramento Kings. Sac-Town shipped off Tyrese Haliburton and Buddy Hield to the Indiana Pacers to make the deal happen.

The Nets, of course, were missing Irving who is not eligible to play at home, while Durant continues to rehab the MCL sprain he sustained back in mid Jan.

So that put a bit of pressure on the newcomers Curry and Drummond to try and help snap the league's longest losing streak. But along with Brown, they did just that. Oh and Ben Simmons was on the sidelines for this game as well. We got a status update on Simmons' eventual return before the game.

After the contest, the player of the game, Bruce Brown, had some rather saucy comments for us to think about.

Bruce Brown, Seth Curry Step Up For Nets

But first, a bit more context. The Nets lost their sixth game in a row against the Kings back on February 2. That was the now infamous four-point game for James Harden, his last with Brooklyn.

After that contest, Harden hinted the Nets had some “internal” issues. The locker room vibes back then sound like they were a lot more uncomfortable than they are today.

Harden's final post-game appearance in the black-and-white portrayed a player who simply didn't want to be here any longer.

In the 109-85 win on Monday, Brown tallied 19 points, six rebounds, six assists, five steals and three blocks. According to Nets PR, Brown is now the franchise's first player since Derrick Coleman to eclipse more than 17 points, six rebounds, six assists, three blocks, and five steals in a single night.

As for Seth Curry, his Nets debut saw him finish with 23 points, seven boards and five dimes. Players who cracked 20-plus points, as well as five or more rebounds and dimes in their team debut include Harden, Irving and Orlando Woolridge. Pretty good company for Mr. Curry.

“I think we ran some of the actions [Curry is] used to running,” said head coach Steve Nash. “We also put him in a position to be himself, not to worry about a lot of things.”

Nets' Status Post James Harden, Trade Deadline

After the game Brown was in good spirits. He joked when he first joined reporters that it had been awhile since he'd done a post-game. Usually those have been reserved for at least two or three of KD, Harden and Irving this season.

Brown, in his brief appearance, suggested that the team had actually turned a corner, in terms of their locker room dynamic.

“[Snapping that losing streak felt] amazing,” said Brown. “When we were in Miami we had a little team bonding event and then the vibe just changed, we can all feel it, and feel it in the locker room and we know we're gonna be here so it was just good for us to be around each other, learn more about each other, it was just a great win for us today.”

It sounds like a combination of every current Nets player really wanting to be here, and them no longer having to deal with the uncertainty of trade season has provided relief. That brought the group together.

Brown was given the opportunity to go into more detail about this sure-to-be-talked-about South Beach bonding experience. He repressed most of a smile but still gave a little smirk when he said “no, it was just a great event for us.”

It seems as if the Nets may have reached a turning point in their season, at least in terms of chemistry.

“Yeah definitely. The locker room there's just a great vibe in there right now,” added Brown. “I don't now what it is, everything just shifted, after the trade deadline. So everybody likes everybody. So it's just great.”

James Harden really really didn't want to be with this team, maybe that had just a little to do with the shift that Brown is talking about here. Reporters tried to pry a little bit more out of Brown, but he was PR savvy enough to dial it back a notch.

Was that not the case in the past, everyone liking each other? “No everybody liked everybody for sure, still, but we're just a little closer now,” said Brown.

Whatever went down in Miami sounds like it was pretty fun and the vibes have spilled over back home in The Borough. It was good to hear some Brooklyn chants at The Clays after a win. If you wanted to oversimplify the whole thing, you might say the Nets are having more fun now that Harden, who didn't want to be with the team, is gone.

We're sure it's more complicated. But the vibe-shift is undeniable right now.
