The Brooklyn Nets may have lost their third straight game, but Kyrie Irving's confidence definitely hasn't dropped. He delivered a warning to the NBA after their most recent defeat on Tuesday against the Detroit Pistons (via Mike Scotto of HoopsHype).

“As a warrior that I am, and the energy that I have alongside my teammates, we just have to turn that corner. We haven’t done it yet, but we will. I’m telling you, the league’s going to be on notice when that happens.”

Certainly, Nets fans seemingly have some room for concern due to the fact that the team lost to the formerly scuffling Toronto Raptors, got blown out by the Philadelphia 76ers, and now lost by double digits to the cellar-dwelling Detroit Pistons, who have the worst record in the NBA.

While he pointed out their lack of energy in their three-game skid, the enigmatic Irving continued on a more philosophical bent.

“I don’t think that we go out every single day of our lives and sacrifice the time in order to be average at anything. We look very average, and we have the talent that the eye test presents that we should be dominating.”

Despite the string of losses, the Nets are still locked in fourth place in the Eastern Conference with a 12-11 record.

One clear wrinkle in the Nets’ misfortunes is the absence of Kevin Durant, who has been sidelined for two-and-a-half games due to COVID-19 protocols.

When he returns, and indeed, when the Nets jell as a unit overall, the NBA should be “on notice” as Kyrie Irving stressed.
