Usually, when an NBA team goes to its back up point guard, there's a drop off in production from the starter. That's not the case at all with the Brooklyn Nets, though, who have D’Angelo Russell as the starter and Spencer Dinwiddie as the backup.

Against LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday, D’Angelo Russell and Spencer Dinwiddie made their case for the best point guard duo in the league, as both players played a huge role in the Nets' win over the Lakers in Brooklyn.

Russell, playing against his old team, put on a show, finishing with 22 points and 13 assists while shooting 9-of-21 from the floor. Dinwiddie, the owner of a new NBA contract, scored 18 points off the bench and dished out six assists.

After the game, D’Angelo Russell said he and Spencer Dinwiddie are a “two-headed snake.”

The Nets are on fire right now, as they have won six games in a row. D'Angelo Russell doesn't seem fazed at all that Dinwiddie just got extended and he's playing on the last year of his deal. Russell will become a restricted free agent after this season ends if the Nets offer him a $9.16 million qualifying offer.

It's good to see D’Angelo Russell and Spencer Dinwiddie playing well together. Sometimes, starters and bench guys don't get along because they are jockeying for playing time and points.
