Heading into his first season with the Brooklyn Nets, D'Angelo Russell has much expectation to fill the responsibility of becoming the next face of the franchise.

Russell has made it a priority since being traded to work toward being ready for the significantly increased role ahead of him. With that in mind, he recently posted a photo of a workout with Chicago Bulls All-Star guard Dwyane Wade, and Los Angeles Lakers big men Julius Randle and Thomas Bryant.

Russell looks to be in great physical shape while taking the necessary steps toward improving his game ahead of his third campaign in the league. The decision to work out with a couple of other NBA players gives off the notion that he's serious about taking the newfound role.

In his first two years in the league with the Los Angeles Lakers, Russell didn't quite live up to the expectations set forth for a second overall pick in the draft. He certainly displayed plenty of potential and promise, but at times played inconsistently while there were questions about his maturity and leadership skills.

That said, Russell has a chance to silence all those critics in his first campaign with the Nets. The opportunity is in front of him to do just that and possibly much more.
