The Brooklyn Nets made major headlines right at the start of free agency this year. They are signing Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving and DeAndre Jordan. That's a lot of star power really quickly.

Of course, that means they'll need role players as well. With that in mind, who can blame Jared Dudley for wanting to return to the team he spent last season with.

Jared Dudley's never been the prime player in an offense and at this point in his career, he never will be. However, he's a solid floor spacer who would work extremely well with superstars.

The Nets have their scorers now. Durant and Irving will do the major chunk of their scoring, with Jordan gobbling up rebounds and getting a few points for his own.

Of course, Brooklyn has some other great players as well. Jarrett Allen is an exciting young big and players like Caris LeVert and Spencer Dinwiddie playing solid roles as well.

That leaves spots open for veterans who can bring a specific skill to the table without costing too much. Dudley fits that role perfectly. He's a solid locker room presence who has a good rapport with the young players on the team. Meanwhile, he'll give them more three-point shooting on a low salary.
