One of the biggest storylines of the upcoming NBA season is if Brooklyn Nets superstar Kevin Durant will return to his MVP ways after completely recovering from an Achilles injury. John Wall and Gilbert Arenas had a chance to actually witness KD's current physical form up close and claimed that he did not miss a beat.
Wall appeared on Arenas' No Chill Gill Podcast and relayed how sharp and lethal the two-time NBA champion still is. The Washington Wizards All-Star guard shared details of a recent pick-up game he played with Durant, alongside fellow NBA players at the Sports Academy in Los Angeles (via The New York Post).
“KD started the game 5-for-5. Out of those five shots, what were they? Left hesitation. He just lulls them to sleep.”
Arenas, who was also there, chimed in.

Agent Zero added that Durant and Wall are pretty much on the same boat as they look to regain their footing after being on the mend for so long.
“So, both the boys (Durant and Wall) are back. That’s all you’re trying to make sure: You’re mentally back. You did the physical part. Now, it’s this (mental) part, making sure all those doors (are) unlocked so when the season hits, you have an open game.”
Wall will finally return to the hardwood after being out since December 2018. The former Kentucky standout suffered another injury setback last year and sat out the entire season.
As for Durant, he last played in Game 5 of the 2019 NBA Finals when his former team Golden State Warriors lost to eventual champions Toronto Raptors. That effectively ended his stint in the Bay Area and signed with the Nets last summer.
