Kevin Durant just passed Jerry West for no. 22 on the NBA all-time scoring list, and the Brooklyn Nets superstar couldn't wait to rub it in the face of the Los Angeles Lakers legend.

Speaking to reporters on Monday after exploding for 37 points en route to the win over the Utah Jazz and into history, Durant spoke about surpassing West and what it meant to him. While he did share his appreciation for it and how honored he is to be mentioned alongside the NBA icon, he couldn't help himself from throwing a joke.

“It's a honor. He's just a legend in the game. A legend in our sport. Almost like the godfather of our sport,” Durant said before saying that the next time he sees West, he'll give him a “little sh*t” about it, per SNY.

Jerry West had a total of 25,192 points throughout his career. Kevin Durant needed just 17 points to surpass the mark on Monday, entering the game at 25,176, so he definitely went above and beyond what's needed to get the spot for himself. Next up for him is Reggie Miller who is at no.21 with 25,279 points.

It'll be interesting to see, however, what Durant will do when he sees Jerry West next time. The Nets and Clippers–where the LA legend currently works as executive–have finished their two games this 2021-22, so unless both teams reach the NBA Finals, Durant giving his “little sh*t” to West has to wait for now.
