Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant has been cleared for three-on-three workouts with his teammates, according to a report from Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports.

Durant ruptured his right Achilles tendon in Game 5 of last season's NBA Finals. The two-time champion underwent successful surgery and has been sidelined since. While KD isn't going to return this season, he's clearly progressing well and is excited to return to the court in 2020-21:

The Nets have struggled with consistency this season, though they did manage to defeat the Celtics on Tuesday night thanks to a dramatic comeback spearheaded by Caris LeVert's career-high 51 points. Brooklyn is currently holding a 27-33 overall record, which would garner a No. 7 seed in the playoffs if they started today. Injuries have played a role, to be sure, as Kyrie Irving has been sidelined with a shoulder ailment and will miss the rest of the season.

Durant may be out for this season, but he recently hinted that the 2020 Olympics might be a possibility. He was among 44 finalists on a list released by USA Basketball earlier this month, and his business partner, Rich Kleiman, says the Nets star is considering the option:

“[Tokyo is] definitely a possibility,” Kleiman said, via Ben Golliver of The Washington Post. “He allowed his name to be in the group of finalists. But there are other benchmarks in front of him that are more important before he makes those decisions.”

A two-time Finals MVP and 10-time All-Star, Durant is recognized as one of the best players the NBA has ever known. Hopefully, he'll be back dominating next season.
