Brooklyn Nets fans will need to wait a little bit longer before Kevin Durant returns to action. It was earlier reported that KD could make his much-awaited comeback on Friday against the Boston Celtics, but apparently, the team has decided to scrap this plan altogether.

According to Nets head coach Steve Nash, Durant is still in danger of missing the team's next few games:

What cannot be denied here is that Kevin Durant is nearing his return. The former league MVP has sat out Brooklyn's past two contests due to a hamstring injury, but it appears to be nothing more than a minor knock. As expected, however, the Nets are taking a very cautious approach here and they are giving KD as much time as he needs to recover.

After Friday's tilt against the Celtics, the Nets return to action on Sunday against the Phoenix Suns. The Suns have emerged as one of the top teams in the NBA this season (they are currently second in the West), so that one is going to be a marquee matchup. While this might serve as a bit of extra motivation for Durant to return, don't expect Brooklyn to rush him back unless he's a hundred percent (or at least very close to it).

Even if Durant does return for Sunday, it would not be surprising if he's placed on some sort of minutes limit. This could be the trend for his first few games back. As we all know, thoough, KD doesn't need too many minutes to dominate a game.
